    I
t is reported and research has confirmed that in the Western North Carolina area, there are a multitude of mountain vortices, waterfalls, caves, power spots and areas where ancient ceremonies gave birth to a special magic and energy.

Ancient people knew that wherever the earth's energy gathered into a vortex was a sacred place. These strongly charged areas of the globe have also been the places where people have chosen to build  churches, temples and other centers of spirit and learning. Places like Stonehenge, the Pyramids of Egypt, Easter Island, and so on are well known as vortex spots.

Spiritual vortexes are said to be cross-points between energy fields in the earth'sgrid system, or intersecting ley lines. Where the ley lines intersect, the result is said to be a dynamic location of energy that can produce a wide range of effects along the lines of spiritual and physical healing, psychic enhancement and magic.

Vortices are profound spiritual earth centers repeatedly connected to super natural events and unexplained phenomena.  World wide, spiritual seekers have placed their ceremonial centers, civilizations, churches and other sacred structures on vortices.

  • Some of the terms used to describe these spiritual vortices sound extremely scientific: earth's grids, ley lines, geomancy, and electromagnetic fields. Vortices are magnetic, electric and electromagnetic.  Those seeking healing or enlightenment find that meditating at the source of a vortex or living in or near the area provides significant  emotional and psychological shifts.

  • Electric - stimulates and energizes, activates
  • Magnetic - attracts energy to the area
  • Electromagnetic -both activates and attracts energy

  • Types of vortex experiences include:

    • Paranormal portals that act as doorways to the afterlife-- or other dimensions
    • Vortexes at the convergence of ley lines
    • Sites of ancient rituals like Stonehenge, Machu Picchu, Chichen Itza
    • Vortexes associated with crop circles
    • Centers of UFO/USO activity

Folks who visit vorticies report feelings if euphoria, expanding enlightenment, positive life reinforcement, spiritual visions, renewed psychic and physical healing.  Some report visions of ETs and UFOs.

Ley lines consist of an invisible grid that are found all over the globe. Three lei lines intersect in Asheville, NC. These lines connect the area with Stonehenge, Mexico and the Devils Triangle.  Their is a circular lei line that surrounds the area that connects with Stone Mountain and Serpent Mound.  Asheville, NC is on the same latitude as Sedona, Arizona along the 33rd parallel.

Because vortices have become extremely powerful as a draw to the metaphysical community, so has the tourist trade at vortex sites and tourist spots in the metaphysical realm are quite different from other tourist areas.  Where vortices occur natural healers, psychics, reiki practitioners and many alternative lifestyle enthusiasts gather.

When seeking the magic of a vortex, exactly where does one go to get the best benefit and experience?  Richard Wolfmoon, vortex expert who formerly provided tours in Sedona, AZ and now does so in Western North Carolina, has researched these magical areas and takes seekers on a series of wondrous journeys throughout the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains.
